Core Molding Technologies’ 2021 Leadership Development Team
Core is a company that values the development of our employees and invests in their growth. One example is putting future leaders through a year-long leadership development program.
Last week, sixteen highly talented individuals from across different functions and locations participated in a week-long conference, as part of the program.
Our executive team delivered many of the trainings throughout the week, which included leadership skills training, strategy, finance, sales and R&D training. Several experts were brought in to present on topics like emotional intelligence and time management.
The week included several teambuilding exercises, one of which was assembling bicycles to donate to a local youth organization.
We’re proud of the group’s current contributions to Core, and can’t wait to see what their futures have in store. Our CEO, Dave Duvall had a few thoughts he would like to share with this group:
I was at home thinking this weekend and listening to my music at wall vibrating volume, due to the rare occurrence of being home alone and I realized that I was just …” happy”. As I reflected more deeply, I realized my happiness was stemming from having the privileged opportunity last week to help positively shape the professional and personal lives of 16 of our high potential leaders at Core Molding.
Our LDII program is a 12-month program which includes the week-long conference, that had me thinking. Each participant is also engaged in ongoing learning and a mentor-mentee program, where all participants are paired with a member of our executive team, throughout the program.
During the week of the conference, every executive team member also facilitated an extensive hands-on session relative to leadership, business acumen or strategy. Now, each participant had to turn-around and present back to the other participants, executive leadership team and many senior leaders what they had learned from the week and how they will apply their learnings when they return to their teams. That is a lot of exposure and a lot of information to take in for a growing leader. As I listened to their presentations, I was absolutely amazed and humbled by how deeply they understood all of the complex leadership and business development principles. I found myself learning from them.
It was personally humbling to hear and watch our leaders present their learnings from the program and the conference to this audience of their peers and top level leaders. That can be a high stress situation for a high achieving leader, to say the least. They did an amazing job and we are unbelievably proud of the depth to which they understood and embraced the concepts taught in the LDII program. It personally made me excited for our future as I envision these leaders growing into larger roles within Core Molding, as we grow the company.
It took many contributors to develop, implement and execute this program, I do want to extend a special thank you to Cristina Farr (Core’s Organizational Development Leader) for bringing our vision to life. Developing our leadership pipeline and preparing leaders for our growth is another milestone in our business transformation.
Back to the beginning of my thoughts… I realized today that my biggest joy in life really comes from helping others to help themselves to improve their life, professionally and personally.
What a great privilege I have. With Great Appreciation,
Dave Duvall
